Founded originally in 1990 by Gustavo Perez, as General High Power, Doctor Battery has come a long way from its humble beginnings in a backyard in Hialeah, FL. Gustavo had vision and passion to open a Battery Store that would provide the local community with quality battery products at discount prices. This drove him to open the first “no-frills retail” location in Hialeah Gardens that he operated as the only employee. The year 2003 was significant since the company changed to the Doctor Battery name. The founder has since been nicknamed “the Doctor” by his industry colleagues and loyal customers. His hard work and dedication have developed Doctor Battery into three successful locations with future growth. We now serve customers from all over the South Florida area and have a successful export business to Latin America and the Caribbean.
